Gondar Park, a unique reality in Italy, is only 500 meters from our facility; in fact, the park is an innovative citadel dedicated to music, art, and sport. Inside, there are various facilities, including an arena for large events, nightclubs, a theater, pubs, pizzerias, street food points, sports areas, play zones, and green spaces.
The historic center of Gallipoli has preserved its great historical and cultural value intact. It is a real pleasure to stroll through the streets of the center until you reach the port, a dive into the past among the many churches and ancient palaces, with the Baroque style dominating the scene.
From the port, it is easy to be fascinated by the wonders of the Angevin Castle, characterized largely by its circular bastions. But among the many places of interest, including the bridge that connects the old part with the new city, at the top of the list of Gallipoli's most representative monuments it is right to place the Cathedral of Saint Agatha, clearly characterized by the Baroque style. The monument hosts several statues, such as that of Saint Agatha, the city's patron saint.
But the beauty of the cathedral also surprises for its decorations, for the facade entirely made using a local stone, and for its interior in Latin cross shape where the Doric columns and the naves also stand out. Among the other churches worth mentioning are that of Santa Maria della Purità and the church of Santa Teresa. Another splendid jewel of the Ionian Sea locality is the ancient Greek Fountain, a beautiful sixteenth-century sculpture with decorations and figures of mythological themes.
